Prerequisites

Before you can use my mods, you'll need:

  • Minecraft Java Edition (version 1.20.1 or 1.21)
  • A mod loader (Forge or NeoForge)
  • A mods folder in your Minecraft directory

Installing a Mod Loader

Forge

  1. Download the installer from the official Forge website
  2. Run the installer and select "Install Client"
  3. Launch Minecraft once to verify the installation

NeoForge

  1. Download NeoForge from their website
  2. Run the installer
  3. Select your Minecraft version
  4. Launch Minecraft to complete setup

Installing Mods

Method 1: Manual Installation

  1. Download the mod .jar file from Modrinth or CurseForge
  2. Navigate to your Minecraft mods folder:
    • Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods
    • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods
    • Linux: ~/.minecraft/mods
  3. Place the .jar file in the mods folder
  4. Launch Minecraft with the mod loader profile

Method 2: Using a Launcher

Most modern launchers support mod installation:

  • CurseForge App - Browse and install mods directly
  • Modrinth App - Clean, ad-free mod management
  • MultiMC - Advanced launcher with per-instance mods

Verifying Installation
