Getting Started
A beginner's guide to installing and using my Minecraft mods

Prerequisites
Before you can use my mods, you'll need:
- Minecraft Java Edition (version 1.20.1 or 1.21)
- A mod loader (Forge or NeoForge)
- A mods folder in your Minecraft directory
Installing a Mod Loader
Forge
- Download the installer from the official Forge website
- Run the installer and select "Install Client"
- Launch Minecraft once to verify the installation
NeoForge
- Download NeoForge from their website
- Run the installer
- Select your Minecraft version
- Launch Minecraft to complete setup
Installing Mods
Method 1: Manual Installation
- Download the mod
.jarfile from Modrinth or CurseForge - Navigate to your Minecraft mods folder:
- Windows:
%appdata%\.minecraft\mods - macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods - Linux:
~/.minecraft/mods
- Windows:
- Place the
.jarfile in the mods folder - Launch Minecraft with the mod loader profile
Method 2: Using a Launcher
Most modern launchers support mod installation:
- CurseForge App - Browse and install mods directly
- Modrinth App - Clean, ad-free mod management
- MultiMC - Advanced launcher with per-instance mods
Verifying Installation
After launching Minecraft with a mod installed:
- Check the Mods list in the main menu
- Your installed mods should appear in the list
- Look for any configuration options in the Mod Settings
